Pic of the Day: Truck stop prostitute

4/19/2010 – Edmond, OK — This street prostitute was spotted taking a break while working a truck stop near NW 122 and I-35 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Today’s prostitutes often rely on their cellular phone to keep in contact with their pimp, other prostitutes and potential ‘Johns.’

There are other options. I’ve worked in law enforcement for years and was a truck driver who was continually woken up by lot lizards. I also experienced the feeling of helplessness and desperation after a divorce. I lost my job, home and everything because of a cheating spouse. (His new girlfriend is working as a prostitute).

I know what it’s like in the streets – been there done that – but you have to make the decision to say no to things that will hurt you and others. It’s a harder road to take, but it pays off in the end. If nothing else you will have your self esteem intact.

Who is it hurting? Legalize it and no one gets hurt. Most of these girls are exploited by pimps anyway.. they are the real victims.

That’s a pretty ignorant perspective. Legalization doesn’t make it safer for those most vulnerable.

look up the facts because it does. Getting it regulated helps with safety such as disease control and safety of the people involved both john or hooker then brings the pimping into legit business with taxes being paid plus gets the super shady pimps out of it. Its really not morally right to straight hand cash to a hooker but its never going to stop and is the cost of enforcement really worth it over collecting and regulating? It would be nice to get them all off the street so I don’t have to drive past them in my car with my kids in it. Remember we are in america and people should be free to do what they want to do right? I can understand an argument about abortion be baby killing but someone handing a willing person some legal tender for some “tender” should not be a crime.

You need to actually do some research. Legalization does not do those things you stated to any large degree when dealing with street prostitution.
