11/16/09 – OKC, OK — This is ‘Star’ a street prostitute in Oklahoma City. In this photo she has just been arrested by an undercover Oklahoma City Vice officer during a prostitution sting. ‘Star’ is a sad sight. She is a young mixed race mother of a 3-year old. She wears a wig most days and manages a smile as potential Johns pass by. Being young and attractive ‘Star’ is very popular with mostly married men who lurk in areas known for street prostitution. She can often be found working at a local strip bar, but her drug addiction keeps her coming back to the streets. She’s convinced herself she’ll stop prostituting soon, but the reality is she’s completely lost to the streets. She’s agreed to do an interview, but has so far been too afraid of angering her pimp.

Hello, my name is Matt and I’v seen you on the news many of times along with your website postings on prostitution in OKC. I just had a question about what you do and possible a proposal. I recently was in Tulsa visiting my cousin and while at a bar having some drinks we overheard a conversation about a particular Asian “massage” place there in the city. One of the men had apparently went there and reported that not only were there several very young women working there but buy the looks things they were probably there against there will. The man admitted that he had gone there for less than noble reasons BUT when he saw first hand what looked to be women especially younger women who didn’t speak a word of English forced there against there will he said he felt disgusted with himself and left. My question to you is if you are so determined to stamp out the uglyness of prostitution why don’t you use some of that zeal to expose places like that? Now im not saying that i think what you are doing isn’t purposeful and good but at least the women you expose are doing it on there own free will. I think human trafficing is a horrible thing and it makes me sick to my stomach to think it could be happening right here in Oklahoma and we have done nothing about it. So anyway, the place is apparently call Asian world massage I believe and I really think it would be a great thing to see on NBC exposing a place right here in Oklahoma that could possible forcing young Asian into sex who were probably lured here into thinking they would find a better life. Hi – great blog you have here. I get a lot from reading other sites about addiction – they are so informative. Thank you for having this blog.
